Renault’s all-new premium crossover- Captur will arrive in the Indian market towards the end of this year.

Renault India has finally announced name and launch details of its upcoming crossover – the Captur. This new premium crossover will arrive in the Indian market towards the end of this year. Though, the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed the launch date of the vehicle. The company has also released the first teaser picture of the vehicle highlighting its silhouette and bold stance.

The latest teaser picture confirms that the new Renault crossover will feature C-shaped LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and come with dual-tone body shade options. The all-new Captur will share its platform (B0/Logan) with the Renault Duster. Other design features might include a sporty front bumper with wider airdam, chromed fog-lamp, sloping roofline, pronounced wheel arches with alloys and LED taillights. The Captur will be a five-seater crossover loaded with a bunch of comfort and entertainment features. It might feature a large touchscreen infotainment system that will support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Media navigation system. Safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, vehicle stability control, brake assist and hill start assist could also be on offer. Engine details are yet to be confirmed, though reports suggest that the new Renault crossover will share its engine the Duster. That means it might come with a 1.5L H4K petrol and a 1.5L dCi diesel powertrain options. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual, a CVT, a 6-speed manual and automatic. Currently, Renault India has 300 dealerships across the country. With an aim to expand its market in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, the company has been conducting a few programs to reach out to its target customers. The French carmaker aims to be in India’s top five automobile manufacturers by 2020.
