The long-awaited 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV has finally been launched in the Indian market at Rs 31.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). One can pre-book this new SUV at a token amount of Rs 50,000 across the nation. For people not in the know, the previous Outlander was discontinued in 2014 due to its low sales.

The new Mitsubishi Outlander is available in single grade, equipped with some high-end features. On the exterior, the SUV gets LED headlamp with auto leveling function, auto light control, LED front fog lamp with bezel, LED daytime running lights, LED tail-lights, Rain sensing wipers and electrically adjustable door mirror with turn lamp. Inside the cabin, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander gets slew of premium features like electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric parking brake with auto hold, 6.1-inch two DIN head unit and Rockford Fosgate acoustic design premium sound system with four speakers, two tweeters, a woofer and a 710-watt amplifier. For safety and security, the new Outlander gets 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, Active Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Auto Headlamps, Immobilizer, Brake Assist System and child proof.
In terms of proportions, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander is 4,695mm, 1,810mm and 1,710mm in length, width and height respectively. The SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2,670mm and has a ground clearance of 190mm. The SUV is being offered in 7-seat options with 60:40 split foldable and tumble second and third row of seats.
Under the bonnet of the new Mitsubishi Outlander is the 2.4-litre MIVEC petrol engine that produces 167PS of power at 6,000rpm and 222Nm of torque at 4,100rpm. It comes with a continuously variable transmission and the Multi-Select 4WD system as standard. With this price tag, the new Outlander will challenge the VW Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and others.
