New Mitsubishi Pajero Might Share Platform With Legendary Nissan Patrol

Speaking to an online media publication, John Signoriello, President and Chief Executive Officier at Mitsubishi Motors Australia, has revealed that the company is open to platform sharing across its Alliance partners (specifically Nissan) to revive the Mitsubishi Pajero nameplate.

For people not in the know, the platform plan was first revealed by Mitsubishi’s former CEO, Trevor Mann at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. He said that the next-generation Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Patrol might share platform. This will significantly reduce production and development cost of the vehicle.  The new-generation Nissan Patrol recently made its world debut with more comfort and safety features and advanced technology. The SUV derives its power from a 4.0L V6 engine that’s good for 275bhp and 394Nm of torque. It can also be upgraded to a 5.6L V8 engine pushing out power worth 400bhp and 560Nm of torque. The more powerful motor comes with Nissan’s Hydraulic Body Motion Control adaptive suspension system.
