2018 Mitsubishi Outlander is available in a single variant priced at Rs 31.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Mitsubishi Motors has finally launched the all-new Outlander SUV in the Indian market. The new 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander has been made available in a single variant priced at Rs 31.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). At this price point, it competes with the Skoda Kodiaq that costs Rs 34.84 lakh (ex-showroom).  The upcoming new Honda CR-V, which is due for 2018 festive season, will also give a tough fight to Mitsubishi’s new 7-seater SUV.

Official bookings for the SUV were commenced in April, 2018. Similar to the old model, which was discontinued in 2014, the new-generation Outlander is being offered with petrol engine only. It also continues to come via CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.

Powering the new 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander is a 2.4-litre MIVEC petrol engine matched to a 6-speed CVT (Continuously variable transmission) automatic gearbox. This motor pushes out a maximum power output of 167bhp and a peak torque of 222Nm. Sporting Mitsubishi’s new design language, the 2018 Outlander looks more refreshing than the previous generation. Upfront, the SUV features a large chrome grille, LED headlamps with LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and LED fog lamps. Towards the side, the vehicle sports 18-inch alloy wheels and silver strips. Compared to the previous generation, which was a five-seater, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander has more cabin space to offer for seven adult occupants. It gets several new features including a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system with four speakers, dual zone climate control, leather upholstered seats, electric parking brake with auto hold, keyless entry, an electric sunroof and paddle shifters. Safety duties are performed by six airbags, ABS with EBD, HAS and ASC which are standard across the SUV lineup.
