New Mini Toyota MPV – More Details Emerge

New Toyota MPV

The new mini Toyota MPV might make global debut at the 2022 Auto Expo.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is ready to launch its new Glanza hatchback (the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno) on 6th June, 2019. The Japanese carmaker will further expand its Indian product lineup with new models including hybrid SUVs and a new mini MPV. Reports suggest that Toyota is considering RAV4, C-HR, Highlander and Harrier SUVs for the Indian market.

The new C-segment MPV, on the other hand, will be jointly developed by Toyota and Suzuki.  According to a fresh media report, the new Toyota MPV might also be retailed via Maruti Suzuki showrooms in the country. It will be positioned against the Mahindra Marazzo, and is expected to make global debut at the 2022 Auto Expo. Read – Toyota Rush 7-Seater SUV Spotted In India

Similar to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota’s new MPV will be designed on a monocoque platform. This will make it lighter and more fuel efficient than the ladder-frame based vehicles. Additionally, it’s quite cost effective and it will help the carmaker achieve competitive pricing. The new small MPV will be slotted below the Toyota Innova Crysta and is estimated to be priced between Rs 15 lakh – Rs 20 lakh.

Engine details of the new Toyota MPV are still under the wraps. Though, the report suggests that it might get an electric or a mild hybrid powertrain. The MPV could also be offered with new petrol and diesel engines meeting the new emission norms.
