Maruti XL6 Design Sketch

Maruti Suzuki has released the first design sketch of the upcoming new XL6 MPV, which is scheduled to be launched on August 22, 2019. The new model will be exclusively sold through NEXA premium sales and service network. It is basically the rugged version of the regular Suzuki Ertiga.

Going by the design sketch, it is visible that the new Maruti XL6 gets new grille with a chrome bar running across the width and a bigger Suzuki logo in the centre. It also gets newly styled headlamp unit with LED daytime running lights. Other changes include new fog lamp housing and new skid plate at the bottom of the front bumper. The side profile looks largely similar to that of the regular Ertiga, but it comes with bigger alloy wheels and roof rails. Moreover, the new model is likely to come with raised ground clearance and will sit higher than the current model. At the back, the new Maruti XL6 gets uniquely styled wrap-around LED tail-lamps and roof-mounted spoiler. It also gets dual-tone bumper with faux skid plate.

The all-new Maruti XL6 will be a six-seater MPV with captain seats for the second row instead of the bench type seat in the regular model. Maruti Suzuki claims that the new XL6 is bound to appeal customers who are looking to buy a premium 3-row vehicle. The new MPV will come with all-black interior with most of the features shared with the Ertiga. It will have Suzuki’s SmartPlay studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Talking about the design of the car, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Maruti Suzuki is ready to roll out the next level of excitement with the XL6, a premium MPV, at NEXA showrooms across the country. Apart from the space and functionality that the customers desire for, the all new XL6 offers a blend of sporty design and premium interiors, which will help it in establishing its niche in the MPV segment.”

The new Maruti XL6 MPV will be powered by a BSVI compliant 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system. This engine is capable of producing 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.
