New Maruti Suzuki Cars and SUVs For NEXA Retail Network

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the petrol-powered S-Cross crossover in the Indian market. The company is planning to introduce a wide range of new products to be sold through NEXA premium retail network. The Indo-Japanese brand is also looking at re-introducing diesel cars in India. In this article, we talk about the upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars to be sold through NEXA dealership network.

Suzuki XL5

Maruti Suzuki is readying a premium version of the WagonR hatchback, which is rumoured to be called the Maruti XL5. The new model could be a 3-row MPV, which will be sold through NEXA retail network. The Nexa Blue colour scheme will be exclusively offered on the XL5 premium hatchback.

The hatchback is expected to be packed with features like touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry, power windows, reverse camera and many more. It is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine producing 77bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.

5-door Jimny

Maruti Suzuki had showcased the Jimny mini off-roader at the 2020 Auto Expo. The 3-door Jimny will be assembled at Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat for export markets. The company is also reportedly working on an all-new 5-door Jimny SUV for the Indian market.

To be sold through NEXA dealership, the new Suzuki Jimny will take on the likes of the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha. The new model will be powered by a BSVI compliant 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.

Maruti Suzuki is working on an all-new mid-sized SUV to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. This SUV will be designed and developed on the Toyota Raize’s DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) platform. It is rumoured to be launched in 2022. A possible debut at the 2020 Auto Expo can’t be ignored. The SUV is likely to be powered by a new 1.2L turbocharged petrol or the existing 1.5L K15B petrol engine. The diesel version is likely to receive the BS6 compliant 1.5L engine.

Electric Hatchback

Maruti Suzuki is also readying an all-new electric car based on the tall-boy WagonR. The new model has been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. This electric hatchback will also receive subtle design changes like closed grille, newer alloys, split headlamp and DRLs, etc. The company hasn’t revealed the specifications; however, it is likely to come with both standard and fast-charging capabilities.
