New Maruti SUV (Vitara) To Unveil On 20th July – Creta Challenger

After the new-generation Maruti Brezza, the Indo-Japanese carmaker is gearing up to enter into the mid-size SUV with a new model. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUV, which will be co-developed with Toyota, will share its platform, components and design elements with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The latter is ready to hit showrooms in coming days. If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti mid-size SUV will be named – Maruti Vitara. The model will make its debut on 20th July 2022. Internally known as ‘YFG’, the SUV will be produced at Toyota’s Karnataka based facility from August 2022.

Design and styling of the new Maruti SUV will be slightly different from the Hyryder. Though, most of its features will be similar to its Toyota’s counterpart. The model will have dashboard layout similar to the newly-launched Brezza. In order to give it a premium appeal, it might have padded leather on the dashboard with soft touch material, leather seats with perforations, leather steering and a panoramic sunroof.

Similar to Toyota’s Hyryder, the new Maruti Vitara will offer a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, connected car tech and powered driver’s seat.

Powertrain system of the Maruti Vitara SUV will include a 1.5L K15C dual-jet petrol unit with mild hybrid tech and a Toyota’s 1.5L TNGA petrol. The mild hybrid system, which will be reserved for the lower variants, will deliver power worth 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. It can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The manual version will get AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.

The higher trims will get the strong hybrid motor making 92bhp and 122Nm. It has an electric motor that offers 79bhp and 141Nm. The Vitara strong hybrid version will be exclusively offered with an eCVT automatic gearbox. It will be available with FWD (front-wheel drive) system.
