New Maruti Ertiga To Launch In October; Bookings Open At Dealer Level

After the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift, the Indo-Japanese carmaker is gearing up to launch the new-generation Ertiga MPV. According to carandbike, the new Maruti Ertiga will hit showrooms in the last week of October, 2018. In fact, the bookings for the MPV have already begun at dealership level. Interested buyers can place a pre-order by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.

Similar to the old Dzire, the current generation Ertiga will be named ‘Ertiga Tour’ and cater to the fleet markets in the country. The new Maruti Ertiga 2018 will continue to be retailed via Arena showrooms. The updated version of the MPV will see comprehensive changes inside and out along with a new petrol powertrain.

Ditching the existing 1.4L petrol motor, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 will use a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder K15B engine that recently debuted on the facelifted Ciaz. The new gasoline unit will be boosted with SHVS mild hybrid technology and deliver power worth 103bhp against 138Nm of torque. The new-gen model will continue to use the tried and tested 1.3-litre diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki might update the oil burner at a later stage. Visually, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 looks upmarket and refreshing than the current generation. Some of its design changes include a new hexagonal grille with chrome treatment, projector headlamps, revised bumpers, wider airdam, new fog lamp assembly, shorter windscreen and new tailgate and spoiler. Read – Maruti Wagon R Launch Details Revealed

The MPV also witnesses minor dimensional changes. The updated model is longer, wider and taller than the existing one. While the wheelbase remains unchanged, the boot space has been increased to 153-litres. Inside, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 will get a new SmartPlay infotainment system with a floating touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
