Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the popular MPV from the Indo-Japanese carmaker, has finally received a generation change in the Indian market. Prices of the petrol models start from Rs lakh and go up to Rs lakh, while the diesel variants cost between Rs lakh – Rs lakh (ex-showroom). The new Maruti Ertiga 2018 has ditched the old 1.4L petrol engine for a new 1.5L K15B SHVS petrol motor that’s more powerful and fuel efficient than its replacement. Though, the old 1.3L SHVS diesel engine continues to be on offer.
Similar to Maruti Suzuki’s new breed cars, the new Maruti Ertiga 2018 sits on HEARTECT platform that makes it lighter, stiffer and safer than before. Interestingly, the MPV’s new-generation model is longer, wider and taller than the old one. The overall design of the MPV has been revised comprehensively, especially the front end. Features such as SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation, rear parking camera and leather wrapped steering wheel are restricted to the range-topping ZXi+ and ZDi+ variants.
