Maruti Alto K10 Urbano Limited Edition Launched, Gets 18 New Features

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has launched a limited edition of the Alto K10 – the Urbano – across LX, LXi, VXi and VXi (O) trims, including CNG. With cosmetic updates and additional 18 features, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Urbano Limited Edition will cost Rs. 16,990 extra over the regular variant prices. This special edition will help the company to boost sales of the hatchback. Just so you know, the company recently introduced a special edition of the Swift – Swift Glory Limited Edition – at Rs. 5.28 lakh.

On the exterior, the Maruti Alto K10 Urbano Edition gets chrome treatment on the fog lamps, wheel arches, ORVMs and taillights that add more to its sporty appeal. It also adds reverse parking sensors and body decals on the side profile. The interior, too, looks refreshing and sporty with art leather seat upholstery with special bucket design, designer mats and pedals and matching steering wheel cover. This special edition comes with additional comfort and connectivity features such as hands free Bluetooth kit, LED door sill guard, ambient light and a fast USB car charger with voltage and temperature display.

Since it’s just a special edition, no mechanical changes have been made to the car. Powering the Maruti Alto K10 Urbano Edition is the existing 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine that is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. This powertrain develops a maximum power of 67.04bhp and 90Nm of torque, and claims to return a mileage of 24.07km/l (ARAI-rated figure).

Regular Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Facelift Model

Launched in November 2014, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 facelift is available in six variants, which are priced between Rs. 3.06 lakh – Rs. 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2015 Maruti Alto K10 shares its styling cues with the Alto 800. The updated model features slightly revised grille flanked by new headlamps, wheel arches with new steel wheels and caps, modified rear bumper and tail lamps. Other design elements include body coloured wing mirrors and door handles, side body moulding, wider tail gate, B-pillar black out tape and others.

Inside, the car gets a dual tone dashboard and door trim finish with power assist for all 4-windows, beige interior theme for select variants, dashboard with new rectangular shaped central AC vents and circular vents for the corners with silver surrounds, and an integrated music system. It’s also gets new steering wheel and an all-new instrument cluster.

The new Alto K10 is offered in total of six variants, with two transmissions, in two fuel options. Powering the 2015 Maruti Alto K10 facelift is the regular 1.0-litre K Series petrol engine that is capable of producing a top power output of 67bhp and 90Nm of top torque. The only mechanical change is the addition of an automated manual transmission (AMT). The Alto K10 AMT is the cheapest automatic car in the Indian car market. The new Alto K10 is claimed to be 15 per cent more fuel efficient than the previous model. The petrol version returns an excellent fuel economy of 24.07kmpl, while the CNG variant returns 32.26km/kg of mileage. On CNG run, the engine develops 58bhp and 78Nm of top torque.
