New Maruti Alto K10 CNG Model Might Launch Later

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has been introduced at a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh. The model lineup comes in 6 variants (4 manual and 2 AMT) and 6 exterior paint options. Powering the hatchback is a 1.0L Dualjet, Dual VVT petrol engine that returns a claimed power of 67bhp and 89Nm of torque. The motor, with the idle start/stop system, offers a fuel efficiency of 24.39kmpl (MT) and 24.90kmpl (AT). The company might introduce the new Maruti Alto K10 CNG version at a later stage.

The hatchback’s CNG model will be similar to the Celerio CNG that comes with the 1.0L petrol engine couped to a factory-fitted CNG kit. The latter one delivers a peak power of 57bhp and 82Nm of torque. The carmaker claims that the Celerio CNG promises a fuel efficiency of 35.60km/kg, thanks to its engine’s two fuel injectors per cylinder, higher thermal efficiency and higher compression ratio. The new Maruti Alto K10 CNG is likely to have the same power and mileage figures.

Talking about the 2022 Maruti Alto K10, the hatchback receives significant changes inside and out. It has a more upright dashboard and sporty all-black interior theme. You get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity and a digital instrument cluster. Features such as side AC vents, steering wheel, interior door handles and control stalks are sourced from the new Celerio.

After the new-generation Alto, the Indo-Japanese automaker will roll out the much-awaited Maruti Grand Vitara SUV. In the mid-size SUV space, it will face challenge from the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the newly-launched Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Grand Vitara, which has been developed under Suzuki and Toyota’s joint venture, share its platform, features, components and powertrains with the Toyota Hyryder. Though, both models look different. The new Maruti SUV will witness a market launch next month (i.e. September 2022).
