New Maruti Alto 2022 Caught Testing; Key Highlights

After launching the new-gen Celerio, Maruti Suzuki is now preparing to give major updates to its existing line-up. The company will launch the new Brezza, Baleno facelift, Ertiga & XL6 facelift in 2022. Adding to it, Maruti Suzuki is also preparing new generation Alto. Slated to be launched in 2022, the new Maruti Alto 2022 has already been spotted testing multiple times.

A latest spy video from Kar DIY shows the overall profile of the new Alto. The spotted model was fully covered in thick black cloth to hide the design details; however, it reveals the overall profile. The Maruti Alto 2022 model will grow in size and looks like a tall-boy hatchback with some design similarities with latest Celerio.

The front fascia looks completely revamped with a larger grille and newly designed, sweptback headlamps. It gets a sculpted bonnet and the front looks relatively flat and bigger than the current car. The side profile looks simple and it looks significantly taller than the outgoing model.

The rear design has also been completely changed. It gets a pair of rectangular headlamps, newly designed bumper and a larger tailgate. The new Maruti Alto 800 is expected to be based on the lightweight HEARTECT platform that underpins the new S-Presso. Not just platform, the new model is expected to share several features and other parts with the S-Presso.

The new Alto is expected to receive big changes inside the cabin. The vehicle will have an all-new dashboard and central console design. It is likely to get some modern features like a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a semi-digital instrument console, keyless entry, engine start/stop button and others.

It is likely to be offered with the existing 800cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine. The company could also add the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which was earlier offered on the Alto K10. The small car will also receive CNG powered model.
