Update: New Mahindra Bolero Launching in July/August 2015. Check Out Pictures and Launch Details Here.
We reported earlier that Mahindra will launch three new SUVs in next 2 years. The company will first launch the all-new Quanto by early 2015, followed by S101 compact SUV. The homegrown automaker is also working on the next generation Bolero, codenamed U301, which has been spotted several times during its test rounds on India roads. The fresh test mule has been caught on the roads of Chennai.
If media reports are to be believed, the next Bolero will be launched alongside the sub-compact S101 compact SUV next year. The vehicle is likely to feature the company’s new modular hydroformed body-on-frame chassis that also underpins the new Scorpio. This particular architecture is flexible and can accommodate various sizes of vehicles. Moreover, the vehicles offer more spacious cabin to accommodate five-adults comfortably.
The U301 Bolero will be offered in various body styles including a sub-4 metre form and a seven-seater version. Unlike Scorpio, the U301 features a more conventional SUV/MPV style. The spy shots suggest a boxy UV shape body for the new Bolero with straight lines and no bulging humps and bumps. Under the bonnet is expected to be the new 1.5-litre or a 1.6-litre petrol and diesel units. It will compete against the likes of Tata Sumo and the Chevy Tavera.
