New Mahindra Thar Launch In March, To Skip Auto Expo

Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to unveil a range of vehicles at the Auto Expo 2020 next month. It will include 18 new models ranging from new-generation and facelifts of the existing products to electric vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions. According to a fresh media report, the 2020 Mahindra Thar SUV will not be a part of the Auto Expo.

The new-generation Mahindra Thar will be unveiled at a separate event a few weeks after the biennial event. Its launch will happen in month of March ahead of the BS6 deadline (i.e. 1st April, 2020).

2020 Mahindra Thar Details

At the engine front, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will get the BS6-compliant 2.2L diesel engine pushing out power close to 140bhp. For performing transmission duties, the SUV will have a 6-speed manual gearbox. The carmaker might offer an automatic transmission at a later stage. Design and styling of the 2020 Mahindra Thar will be thoroughly revised. It will get all-new body panels along with a higher front bumper with integrated fog lamps, LED DRLs and LED taillamps. Inside, the next-generation Thar will feature a new dashboard with four power windows. A touchscreen infotainment system could be offered on the higher trims.

2020 Mahindra Thar Details

The manual HVAC system will be carried over from the existing model. There will be multiple USB outlets. Compared to the current generation, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will be much safer. It will get driver airbag, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a seat belt reminder and a speed alert system as standard safety fitments.
