The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV (codenamed – Z101) has finally been revealed ahead of its market launch, which is scheduled for June 27, 2022. It’s essentially the third-generation model of the Scorpio with significant design changes, feature upgrades and more powerful engines. The carmaker says that the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N “will redefine the D-segment SUV category and has been engineered ground-up to meet the aspiration of the young and tech-savy customers”.
Mahindra has also confirmed that the new Scorpio will come with petrol and diesel engines along with the manual and automatic gearbox options and an optional 4X4 drivetrain system.
Designed on a new body-on-frame platform, the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N is reported to be offered with the new 2.0L turbo mStallion petrol and 2.2L mHawk diesel engines making 200bhp and 130bhp (for the lower variants)/185bhp (for the higher trims) respectively. The spy images revealed that the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N will have several new features on offer including the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). It will have an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity, a 360 degree camera, a digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable seats, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, a flat-bottom steering with mounted controls, automatic climate control with third row AC vents and many more.
The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will come in 6 and 7-seats configurations with latter one featuring captain seats for the middle row. The second row occupants will have individual armrests. Interestingly, its third row seats will be front facing instead of side facing units.
The safety kit might include 6/7 airbags, electronic stability programe, hill hold assist, hill descent control, traction control system and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Significant changes have also been made to its design. The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N features a new vertical slat grille, double-barrel headlamp design with chrome underlining, Mahindra’s new logo, body cladding with silver inserts on the sides, newly-designed 18-inch alloy wheels, a faux skid plate with silver finish and redesigned side-hinged tailgate.
