New Mahindra Scorpio N 2022 – All You Need To Know

The much-awaited new Mahindra Scorpio N 2022 has finally been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh. The company will continue to sell the previous generation Scorpio alongside the new model. The old model will be called the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic. The model will be available at dealerships for customer previews from July 5th, 2022. Test drivers for the new model will commence from July 15th in select 30 cities.

Official bookings for the new Mahindra Scorpio N will commence from July 30th, 2022. The company has said that bookings will be done on ‘first come first serve’ basis and delivery date will depend on variant customer selected.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Price List

The new-gen Mahindra Scorpio-N comes with all-new design and completely revised interior along with new petrol & diesel engine options. It is offered in 5 trim levels – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L – and in total of 36 variants. While 13 petrol variants are on offer, the diesel engine comes in 23 variants. The Scorpio Classic will come with cosmetic design changes and will be offered in 2 trims – S3+ and S11 – in 7 and 9 seat options.

The petrol manual version is available in the price bracket of Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh. The diesel version is priced between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh. The company hasn’t released the prices of automatic and AWD variants. Prices of Scorpio N AT and AWD variants will be revealed on July 21, 2022.

New Mahindra Scorpio N 2022 – Specifications

The new-gen Scorpio is offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel. The petrol engine is capable of producing 200PS of power and 370Nm of torque with manual gearbox. The torque output increases to 380Nm with automatic gearbox.

The 2.2L diesel engine is tuned to offer two states of tunes – 132PS and 300Nm of torque with 6-speed manual, and 175PS and 370Nm with MT & 400Nm with AT. While the petrol version is available in rear-wheel drive option, the diesel comes with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive layouts.

New Mahindra Scorpio Delivery

The new-gen Scorpio comes with shift-on-fly 4WD system with low and high range gearbox, mechanical rear locking and front brake locking differential. The 4×4 variant of the SUV is called the Mahindra Scorpio N 4Xplorer. The SUV will also offer 4 off-road modes – Mud, Sand, Grass and Snow. For suspension duties, the SUV gets front independent unit and penta-link at the rear. It also comes with FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) dampers, which is similar to the one offered on the XUV700.

Dimensions

In terms of proportions, the new Mahindra Scorpio N is 4,662mm long, 1,917mm wide and 1,857mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,780mm. The SUV will be offered with 17 and 18-inch wheels option. The new Scorpio N is around 206mm longer, 97mm wider and 125mm shorter than the current model. In fact, the wheelbase is increased by 70mm.

It is offered with 6 and 7-seat options with former having captain seats in the second-row. The 6 and 7-seater variants 3rd row seats get 50:50 and 60:40 split function respectively. In terms of features, the SUV gets dual-projector headlamps with sequential turn indicators, C-shaped LED DRLs, vertically-stacked signature LED tail-lights and a new dual-tone 2-spoke alloy wheels.

It comes with features like height adjustable seat belts, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by Bosch-sourced AdrenoX, Alexa connectivity, connected car tech, a Sony-sourced 12-speaker system with 3D sound staging, an electric sunroof, an LED cabin light, a semi-digital instrument console, a dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, etc. For safety and security, the SUV offers multiple airbags, cruise control, 360 degree camera, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill descent control and others.
