Mahindra has finally launched the much-awaited Scorpio facelift in the country. The updated Scorpio gets comprehensive makeovers to both exterior styling and interiors. It is offered in six variants– S2, S4, S6, S6 Plus, S8 and S10 out of which, the S2 is powered by m2CrDi motor while others gets 2.2-litre mHawk diesel mill. The base variant of the Scorpio is priced at Rs. 7.98 lakh, while the top-spec model cost Rs. 11.46 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi.

The new Mahindra Scorpio gets a newly formulated front fascia. It features a slightly modified grille flanked by rectangular headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights with projector beams. The vertical arrangement for grille remains unchanged, while the bonnet is redesigned to accommodate a new hood scoop.

The rear profile of the new Scorpio largely resembles the previous car; however, the company has given some subtle changes to keep it refresh in the market. Its grab handles are now positioned over the taillights for better ingress. The taillights now come integrated with LEDs while the tailgate gets a restyled windscreen. There is a black coloured plastic moulding is positioned on the tailgate featuring a silver enclosure for the registration plate. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly formulated 17-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the Mahindra Scorpio is completely revamped. It features a reworked dashboard with chrome linings around air conditioning vents and switch gears. A large 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been directly lifted from the XUV500 that consists of navigation system. The touchscreen also act as a display for rear view camera.

Under the bonnet is the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that is capable of developing a top power output of 120bhp at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 290Nm at 1800rpm. Its 2.5-litre m2CrDi motor is capable of developing a top power output of 75bhp at 3200rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1400rpm. The new Scorpio features an all-new 320MT five-speed manual transmission gearbox that offers better shifts than previous model.
