The homegrown automaker, Mahindra will launch the new Scorpio facelift in the Indian car market on September 25, 2014. The new Scorpio has been spotted several times during its test rounds. This time the vehicle gets several changes to both exterior and interiors. Moreover, the company has also tweaked the mechanics of this SUV to offer better performance.

The new Scorpio, codenamed W 105, gets new prominent ‘fan-grille’ flanked by new headlights. Its tail lamps get a strip of LEDs, which add to its sporty character. The vehicle is equipped new and more sculpted bumper featuring wider air dam. Moreover, the bonnet, fenders and doors in the new SUV are all new which makes it look more modern. The vehicle gets wider track and lower height.

Inside the cabin, the Scorpio gets some styling tweaks and is equipped with some additional features. It is equipped with an all-new automatic climate control system with chrome lined rectangular shaped air-con vents and button. The new SUV features centre console features a new infotainment system with big touchscreen which include a navigation system. The vehicle also gets rear view camera which makes parking easier. There will be an all-new steering wheel sourced from XUV500. The power windows switches have been placed on the doors instead of the centre console. Moreover, the vehicle gets new twin-gloss box which further enhances the overall storage space.

Under the bonnet is the same 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine producing 120bhp. This engine is paired to an all-new 320MT five-speed transmission. Adding to it, the new Scorpio will get an all-new body-on-frame chassis (next-gen ladder chassis) which uses hydroforming to make it lighter. The new model is likely to be priced around Rs. 30,000 more than the outgoing model.
