New Kia Compact MPV To Challenge Ertiga, Marazzo
Kia Motors recently confirmed that it will expand its Indian product portfolio with more SUVs and MPVs. As of now, the carmaker has no plan to enter into hatchback and compact sedan segments. Currently, the Korean carmaker has Seltos compact SUV and Carnival luxury MPV in its Indian lineup. The all-new Kia Sonet subcompact will soon join the bandwagon in coming months that will be followed by a mid-size MPV.
The new Kia compact MPV is likely to share its platform with the Seltos, but carry an all-new design. In the company’s product lineup, it will be placed above the Seltos and below the Carnival and take on the cars like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo.
Talking to a media publication, Han-Woo Park, president, and CEO of Kia Motors, has confirmed that the new Kia compact MPV will come with an “affordable price” tag and offer “adequate space” for seven occupants. Read – Kia Sonet SUV (Venue, Vitara Brezza Rival) Coming Soon
The new Kia compact MPV is still under the consideration for the Indian market. If it gets green light, the new MPV is likely come as early as by the end of 2021. Production of the vehicle is likely to take place at the carmaker’s Anantapur based plant in Andhra Pradesh and might be exported to overseas as well.
