The upcoming Jawa motorcycle will be powered by all-new 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine.

After revealing the engine details for the upcoming Jawa motorcycles, Mahindra has announced that the first Jawa bike will officially be unveiled on 15th November 2018. The first motorcycle will directly rival the popular Royal Enfield Classic 350.

The upcoming Jawa motorcycle will be powered by all-new 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. Developed from scratch in Italy and India, this engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 27bhp and a peak torque of 28Nm. Classic Legends, Mahindra’s subsidiary, claims that this engine offers a generous mid-range and a flat torque curve. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The new 293cc engine will meet the upcoming BSVI emission norms. This engine has been developed from scratch, but it shares a bore and stroke with the Mahindra Mojo’s 300cc engine. The new motorcycle will be more powerful and torquier than the Royal Enfield Classic 350, which offers 19.8bhp of power and 28Nm. The Jawa motorcycle for Indian market will not share any components from the global models. The details about the upcoming Jawa bike are yet to be revealed, but media reports claim that the new bike will be offered in three different variants. The styling of the upcoming new Jawa bike is expected to be inspired from the yesteryear Jawa motorcycles.
