Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar has released a teaser image of the much-anticipated Jaguar XE sedan via its social media platforms. The teased image of the sedan features the transparent body panels, providing the details of the sub-frame and crash structure. (Also Read: Jaguar XE sedan preview)
Based on the Jaguar’s all new advanced aluminum architecture, the XE sedan will be the cheapest Jaguar on offer. The new scalable architecture will be lighter, while the engine is expected to be mounted longitudinally and driver the rear or all four wheels. It is likely to make its official debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The new model will compete against the likes of Audi A4, the BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The Jaguar XE will be powered by the high performance 3.0-litre V6 engine that also powers the F-Type. The engine produces two state of powers- 340bhp and 380bhp and it catches a top speed of 300kmph. This model will also get a more economical 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine. All the engines are likely to get the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission gearbox, which sends the power to the rear wheels or to all four-wheels.
The Jaguar XE is likely to go on sale by the mid-2014. It is expected to make its Indian debut by the end of the next year. The vehicle is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 30-40 lakh.
