Italian automaker Fiat has been regularly testing its much-awaited Punto facelift. Today, we posted some of the clear pictures of the hatchback and now a set of new images of the hatchback have hit the web world. Like previous spy shots, the new test mule is also fully un-camouflaged revealing everything.
Interestingly, the Punto facelift gets premium and is equipped with several exciting features. The most striking feature is the rear air conditioning vents and ambient lighting. So, all the speculations about the cost cutting went wrong as the updated Punto flaunts its rich interior and exterior as well.
The interiors of the hatchback are directly lifted from the new Linea sedan. The spotted vehicle has a full black interior scheme; however, the company will also offer standard Punto models with a dual tone beige-black interior theme. The instrument cluster, steering wheel, AC vents, audio controls and others are sourced from its sedan sibling- Linea.
This particular test mule wears the Evo badge. The updated Punto shares its design cues with the Avventura concept unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. The headlamps resemble the concept, while the restyled grille gets chrome lining. Its new bumper features wider grille and new chrome fog lamp assembly.
Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed 5-spoke alloy wheels, while the door handles have chrome inserts. Also visible are the revised taillamps and bumper with chrome and new stop lamps.
The Fiat Punto facelift will come in both petrol and diesel guise. The petrol version gets 2 engines- a 68PS 1.2-litre and a 90PS 1.4-litre, while the diesel version is powered by the tried & trusted 1.3-litre Multi-jet engine that develops two state of tunes- 76PS and 93PS. All the engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
