New Hyundai Verna Facelift to be Unveiled at Auto Expo 2020

Korean automaker, Hyundai will showcase the second generation Creta, Verna and Tucson facelifts at the 2020 Auto Expo. While the new Creta will be launched in mid-March 2020, the new Verna and Tucson are expected to go on sale in February. The company could announce the prices of these two facelifts at the biennial event itself.

The Hyundai Verna facelift will receive the newly developed BSVI compliant 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that powers the Kia Seltos. This BSVI compliant engine is capable of producing 115bhp of power and 144Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic. This new engine will replace the existing BS4 1.4L and 1.6L petrol engines that produces 99bhp and 123bhp respectively.

The Hyundai Verna facelift will also receive the BSVI compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine. This engine will come as a replacement for the 1.4L U2 CRDi and 1.6L CRDi diesel engines. While powering the Seltos, the new 1.5L diesel engine produces 115bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a torque convertor automatic. The Verna facelift will receive significant design changes. It will receive a wider cascading grille, new headlamps and revised front bumper. The sedan’s new LED headlamp has 3 section – projection headlamp, the parking lamp and the turn indicator – with chrome outlines separating them. At the back, the sedan gets all-new boot and tail-lamp design. There is a thin LED strip that runs across the boot, while the license plate is also moved lower on the boot. The bumper has rectangular, vertically stacked reflectors and a dual-tone faux-diffuser.

2020 Hyundai Verna Specs

Inside the cabin, the 2020 Hyundai Verna gets a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Adding to it, the sedan will receive the BlueLink connected car solution. The next-generation Hyundai Verna will be equipped with an all-digital instrument console.
