Hyundai India will launch the Verna facelift on February 16, 2015. Ahead of its launch, the dealers have started taking pre-orders for the car at a token amount of Rs. 21,000. The new Verna sedan will get changes to both styling and mechanism.

The updated Hyundai Verna facelift features new front fascia with new grille, flanked by restyled headlamps than can accommodate projectors. It also has newly styled fog lamps with LED strips surrounding them. At the rear, the sedan features restyled tail lamps with integrated LEDs and bumper with new integrated reflectors. The flared wheel arches of the sedan have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels. Inside, the sedan is expected to get new touchscreen infotainment system and additional airbags.

The outgoing Verna sedan is heavily criticized for its handling and steering feel. It is expected that the updated model will get steering from Elite i20 to offer better driving experience. Moreover, the suspension mechanism has been tweaked to tackle pot holes in better way. Under the hood are the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4-litre CRDi and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engines. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission gearbox. The company might also introduce the six-speed automatic gearbox instead of the 4-speed gearbox.
