New Hyundai Santro Rendering Reveals Possible Design; Tata Tiago Rival

New Hyundai Santro Rendering (1)

The new Hyundai Santro small car will come with better structural integrity and safety features.

Korean automaker, Hyundai is all set to launch an all-new entry-level hatchback – codenamed AH2 – in the country during festive season, Diwali. The new model is also likely to carry the popular Santro badge. If media reports are to be believed, the new model could be launched in September or October; however, official statement from Hyundai is yet to come.

The new rendering is based on spyshots available on the internet. The 2018 Hyundai Santro will be equipped with the brand’s signature cascading-type grille, which is now standard design highlight on most of the Hyundai cars. It will also be the brand’s new entry-level model. If reports are to be believed, the current cheapest Hyundai – Eon will eventually phase out from the market. This means, next Santro will be the cheapest Hyundai in near future. It will take on the likes of Tata Tiago, Maruti Celerio and others in its category. Also See – Upcoming Hyundai Cars

The new Santro will come in petrol version only. Reports also suggest that the factory fitted CNG version could also be on offer. Adding to it, this will be Hyundai’s first car to offer AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). It will be powered by a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 68bhp of maximum power and 100Nm of torque. Also See – New Santro – 5 Things You Should Know

The new AH2 small car will come with better structural integrity and safety features. It is developed on the same platform that also underpins the discontinued i10 model. Like the previous model, the new small car will have a tall-boy design and will have the practicality of the popular Santro. Interior images of the car have also been leaked online, which suggests that the cabin will share components with the Grand i10. It will get a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, dual-tone black-beige dashboard, dash-mounted gear-lever and a 3-pod instrument console.
