Hyundai GRAND i10 NIOS

The much-awaited new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will finally go on sale in the Indian market tomorrow. The company has already started dispatching the new model to dealerships. Interested buyers can pre-book the new i10 Nios online or through dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. Hyundai will continue to sell the current Grand i10, which is rumoured to be offered in petrol avatar only.

The new model will be positioned above the existing Grand i10 hatchback. Expected to be priced between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh, the new Hyundai i10 Nios will challenge the likes of Maruti Swift and the Ford Figo. The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be offered in 5 trim levels – Era, Magna, Sports, Sports Dual Tone and Asta – and in total of 10 variants (7 Petrol and 3 diesel). It is based on the new Santro’s platform, which is strong enough to meet the upcoming crash test and safety norms. The new model seems bigger than the current i10, which should help Hyundai to create more space inside the cabin.

The new Grand i10 Nios retains the tall-boy design, but it looks more premium than the regular model. Some of the design highlights include glossy black raidator grille, sculpted bonnet, projector headlamps and boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, shark fin antenna, round shaped fog lamps and dual-tone bumper. It rides on 15-inch alloy wheels. Also See – Hyundai Grand i10 Nios variants, colours and mileage details

Inside the cabin, the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets dual-tone scheme. The overall layout seems identical to the existing car, but it gets several new features. Some of the features include wireless charging, automatic climate control, rear air-con vents, 5.3-inch MID with digital speedometer, etc. The hatchback also gets a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. For passengers’ safety and security, the new i10 Nios gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, seat belt reminder and rear parking sensors as standard.

The 2020 Hyundai i10 Nios will be offered with 2 BSVI compliant engine options – a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.2-litre CRDi diesel. While the former is good for 81bhp of power and 114Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
