New Hyundai Creta Vs ix25 – Same Exterior, Different Interior
Korean automaker, Hyundai has recently unveiled the new generation Creta SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new Hyundai Creta is scheduled to be launched in the Indian market in March, 2020. It was expected that the new model will have different design compared to the second-gen Hyundai ix25 SUV launched in China last year. However, the new Creta looks similar to its Chinese sibling with striking and more rounded profile.
Both Creta and ix25 comes with more rounded front profile, which is very aggressive and flashy. The new model features a striking radiator grille flanked by vertically stacked two-tier headlamp setup with LED DRLs on top and main headlamps placed lower on the bumper. Front design is inspired by the bigger Hyundai SUVs including the Palisade and Santa Fe.
The only difference in the front profile is the treatment to the grille. While the Chinese model gets mesh-type treatment for the grille, the India-spec Creta gets chromed treatment with vertical and horizontal slats forming rectangular blocks. The side profile looks exactly similar to the Chinese ix25. In fact, the rear also shares most of the styling with the ix25. It gets vertically stacked LED tail-lights which are connected via a garnish strip. The difference comes in the form of slightly revised bumper with India-spec model getting dual-tone treatment and new reflectors.
The biggest difference between the new Creta and the ix25 is the interior. The Chinese-spec model comes with all-black interior scheme as against the dual-tone scheme offered in the India-spec model. The dashboard is dominated by massive touchscreen infotainment system that flows into the central console to form a single entity. The touch also works as a display for the 360 degree camera. There are hexagonal shaped air-con vents positioned above the touchscreen display. The ix25 gets fully digital instrument console with blue lighting treatment.
The India-spec 2020 Hyundai Creta gets different dashboard design with beige and black colour scheme. The SUV gets Seltos-like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with modern day connectivity features. The steering wheel design is also different, which looks similar to the Sonata sold abroad. It has controls for audio, Bluetooth telephony and cruise control. The SUV gets automatic climate control, electronic parking brake, cooled seats and wireless charging.

The second-generation Hyundai Creta is likely to source the engine options with the Seltos SUV. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol with CVT, a 1.5-litre diesel with 6-speed torque convertor and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol with a 7-speed DCT automatic.
