New Hyundai Creta Launch Pushed To 2024 – More Details

It was reported that Hyundai will showcase the new Creta facelift at the 2023 Auto Expo; that didn’t happen. Instead, the Korean automaker revealed the prices of the Ioniq 5 and showcased the Ioniq 6 and the Nexo FCEV at the 16th edition of Indian Auto Expo. Hyundai has also confirmed that the Creta facelift won’t make its way to our market in 2023.

New Hyundai Creta Design & Interior

2022 Hyundai Creta facelift India

It was speculated that Hyundai will launch the Creta facelift, which is already on sale in Indonesia. However, the company has confirmed that it is developing an entirely different model for the Indian market. This is the main reason behind the delay in the launch of the new Creta SUV in our market.

Hyundai hasn’t revealed anything about the design and interior changes for the new Creta. It is expected that the new Hyundai Creta for India will have its own unique styling and is not likely to share the front design with the Tucson and the facelifted model on sale in select international markets. The new model is likely to receive all-new bumpers, new front grille and new tail-lamps along with a new set of alloy wheels. The India-spec model is likely to receive an all-new digital instrument console, a 360 degree camera with blind spot monitoring, and new seat upholstery.

ADAS Tech

Hyundai has already confirmed that it will introduce the ADAS tech in most of the existing products in our market. The next-gen Hyundai Verna, which is scheduled to be launched in next few months, will also receive ADAS features. The new Hyundai Creta will also be equipped with advanced driver assistance features including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, blind spot monitoring, lane assist and others.

New Hyundai Creta – 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine

The new Hyundai Creta will receive a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine instead of the existing 1.4-litre turbo engine. This engine could also receive a mild hybrid setup for higher fuel efficiency. The new engine is capable of producing 160PS of power and 260Nm of torque. It will be the most powerful engine in its category, beating the VW Group’s 150PS, 1.5L turbo petrol unit. This engine could be offered with a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch transmission.

Other engine options will include a 115bhp, 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5-litre turbo diesel. All three powertrains will be compliant with BSVI Stage 2 emission norms, which will be introduced in April 2023.
