It is no secret that Hyundai and Kia are working on multiple new SUVs for the Indian market. While Hyundai will launch the new Venue, new Tucson, Ioniq 5 and the Stargazer MPV, Kia will upgrade its existing product range. Besides new products, Hyundai and Kia will launch the facelifted Creta and the Seltos respectively.
The new Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos facelift will be launched in our market in 2023. It is expected that the new SUVs could be introduced at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. The new models will receive design changes and upgraded cabin; however, mechanics will remain the same.
2023 Hyundai Creta
The new Creta facelift will come with an all-new front fascia that’s inspired from the new Tucson. It features Hyundai’s new ‘parametric grille’ with neatly integrated LED DRLs. The uniquely designed DRLs look like a part of the grille when turned off. The SUV gets revised bumper with slimmer and wider air-inlet. At the back, the SUV gets revised tailgate design with sharp creases and new LED tail-lights. Hyundai has also removed the LED bar that connects the tail-lights, offering much cleaner design compared to the outgoing model.
The SUV’s cabin won’t receive drastic changes in terms of look and feel; however, Hyundai will improve the tech part. It will get an updated version of Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car tech. This tech offers new features like stolen vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle immobilisation and a valet parking mode. The SUV could also receive ADAS with features like autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and others.
It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 113bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 113bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 138bhp, 1.4L turbocharged petrol. Transmission options are likely to be similar to the existing model.
2023 Kia Seltos Facelift
The new Seltos facelift will come with new design language, which we have seen on the new Carens. It will have a new front fascia with new grille design, new bumper and new LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. It gets split headlamp setup with LED DRLs on top & main headlamp unit placed slightly lower. The Kia logo will be placed on the grille instead of the hood. The SUV will come with new alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, new LED tail-lights and new tailgate design with new lower bumper.
The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift is likely to get a fully digital instrument console, which is likely to be sourced from the global spec Kia K3. It is also likely to get ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).
The new Seltos for India is most likely to remain the existing model. It is reported that the new Seltos facelift could receive a mild hybrid system, which will make it compliant with the upcoming CAFE & updated BS6 emission standards.
