New Hyundai Cars at Auto Expo 2020
The upcoming Auto Expo 2020 will witness several carmakers unveil and launch their new cars and concepts. It is expected that the next edition of biennial event will host over 50 new cars from different automakers. Hyundai too plans big for the upcoming Auto Expo, and here we listed the company’s probable line-up for the upcoming mega event. Let’s take a look:
New Hyundai Creta
Korean automaker will bring the second generation Creta at the Auto Expo 2020. The Creta has been one of the most successful SUVs currently on sale in India, and with new generation model, Hyundai aims to further improve its market position. Based on the new ix25, which was launched in China in 2019, the new Creta is based on the modified version of the existing monocoque platform that underpins the Kia Seltos.
The new model will come with radical design changes and feature-loaded cabin. Some of the new features will include automatic parking brake, LED daytime running lamps, connected car technology, a large vertically-stacked touchscreen infotainment system and a factory-fitted panoramic sunroof. Adding to it, the SUV will receive a new set of engines – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a new 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. The company could also opt for the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Hyundai Venue.
Hyundai Tucson Facelift
Hyundai is most likely to launch the facelifted version of the Tucson SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo. The SUV will receive minor aesthetic changes and a bunch of new features. In terms of styling changes, the SUV will get a new cascading grille, revised headlamps, sharper front bumper, revised fog lamps with new LED daytime running lights, rear bumper with new lower design and LED taillamps.
The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift will receive the BS6 version of the existing 2.0-litre petrol and 1.6-litre turbo GDI diesel engines. While the former is good for 160bhp and 204Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 170bhp and 264Nm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and an automatic unit.
Hyundai Verna Facelift
Next model in our list of upcoming new Hyundai cars at Auto Expo 2020 is the new Verna facelift. The Verna facelift will receive te new BSVI compliant 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that powers the Kia Seltos. The BSVI compliant engine churns out 115bhp and 144Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. Adding to it, the sedan will get the new 1.5-litre BSVI diesel engine producing 115bhp and 250Nm. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a torque convertor automatic.
The sedan will receive significant design changes along with upgraded interior. Some of the design changes will include a wider cascading grille, new headlamps, revised bumper, new boot and tail-lamp design. Inside the cabin, the 2020 Hyundai Verna gets a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car solution and an all-digital instrument console.
Hyundai Aura, BS6 Santro, Elite i20 and Venue
Alongside new models, Hyundai will showcase the Aura compact sedan. The sub-4 meter sedan is based on the new Grand i10 Nios and will share the cabin and design elements with the hatchback sibling. It is available with 3 BS6 engines – a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.2-litre diesel and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol.
Adding to it, Hyundai will also showcase the BSVI versions of the Santro and the Venue compact SUV. The i20 BSVI is expected to receive the new 1.5-litre diesel engine, which will replace the existing 1.4-litre U2 CRDi engine.
