New 2017 Honda Activa 125 is now India’s first automatic scooter with BSIV engine and AHO feature.

The new 2017 Honda Activa 125 automatic scooter has finally gone on sale in India at a starting price of Rs 56,954 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new 2017 Honda Activa 125 gets a new mid variant – Alloy wheels with Drum brake along with the existing Standard and Alloy Disc models. The new Activa 125 becomes Industry’s first 125cc automatic scooter to feature the BSIV engine and Automatic Headlamp On (AHO). Besides this, the scooter receives a new Mat Crust Metallic shade and several new features.

New 2017 Honda Activa 125 Design Changes

Sitting on the under bone frame, the new 2017 Honda Activa 125 carries a Frontastic style statement and looks more premium than the old one. The scooter gets new LED position lights integrated into front chrome chest and a larger 3D Honda emblem. Other key features include new mobile charging socket, retractable front hook, longer and wider seat and comfortable upright sitting posture. At the heart of the new 2017 Honda Activa 125 is the same 124.9cc Honda Eco Technology (HET) engine, which is now BSIV compliant. This air-cooled, 4-stroke SI motor churns out power worth 8.60bhp at 6,500rpm against 10.12Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. Paired with a V-Matic gearbox, it can achieve a top speed of 85kmph.

New 2017 Honda Activa 125 Braking & Suspension System

The scooter runs on 90/90-12 and 90/100-10 tubeless front and rear tyres respectively. There are 130mm drum and 190mm disc upfront brake options along with 130mm rear drum brake on the CBS variants. With Combi brake system (CBS) with Equalizer technology, the Activa 125 becomes India’s most technologically advanced 125c scooter. This system delivers braking force proportionately between front and rear wheels. It not only improves the balance, but reduces braking distance as well. For taking care of dumper duties, there is telescopic upfront and spring loaded hydraulic type suspension setup.
