It will be positioned below the new HR-V or Vezel, which measures around 4.4 meters in length.

In the international markets, the new Honda Compact SUV will rival the likes of the Toyota Yaris Cross, Nissan Kicks and Toyota Raize/Daihatsu Rocky. The new compact SUV is reportedly to be based on new Honda Fit hatchback platform, which also underpins the new City sedan. The report claims that the new Honda SUV is expected to measure around 4.2 meters in length, 1.76 meters in width and 1.6 meters in height. It is likely to have a wheelbase of 2,530mm, which is similar to the Fit hatchback. As a reference, the City has a wheelbase of 2,600mm.

The new Honda compact SUV is expected to share the engine options with the City sedan. It is likely to get the Atkison Cycle 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors. The gasoline engine produces a peak power of 98bhp and with electric assistance it makes 109bhp. Its combined torque output stands at 253Nm. The City hybrid comes with a single, fixed-gear ratio and three drive modes – Engine, EV and Hybrid.

The new Honda compact SUV is also expected to receive a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Civic sedan and the City RS in select South Asian markets. This engine can produce up to 130bhp of power and close to 200Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a CVT automatic gearbox.
