Honda is all set to bring back its iconic Civic brand in the Indian market. While media drive of the luxury sedan has been scheduled to happen in the second week of February, its launch will take place next month. According to ZigWheels, the unofficial bookings of the new Honda Civic have been commenced in Delhi-NCR region. Interesting buyers can pre-book the sedan by paying a sum of Rs 51,000, which is refundable.
The new-generation Honda Civic that made its India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo, will be imported as CKD unit and assembled at the company’s facility. While the official prices of the sedan will be revealed at its launch, it’s estimated to be priced between Rs 17 lakh – Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). Major change will come in the form of a 1.6L i-DTEC diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. The oil burner, which is borrowed from the new Honda CR-V, generates 120PS with 300Nm of torque. Some of its key changes will include a pronounced front grille, all-LED wraparound headlamps, muscular bonnet, sloping coupe roofline, 17-inch alloy wheels, angular taillamps, a boot lit spoiler, dual tone dashboard and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
