New Honda Civic Production Starts; Launch On 7th March 2019

Honda announced that the Civic’s bookings have exceeded their expectations.

Honda Cars India (HCI) has commenced the production of the tenth-generation Civic sedan. The luxury saloon is being manufactured at the carmaker’s Greater Noida based facility. The company has also announced that the Civic’s bookings have exceeded their expectations. The all-new Honda Civic is scheduled to launch on 7th March, 2019.

Commenting on the start of production, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President & Director, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “We are delighted to begin the production of All New Civic which will be launched on Mar 7. Since this has been a highly anticipated launch in India, we are receiving an outstanding response during pre-launch phase. The new Honda Civic 2019 will be made available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will make use of a 1.8L i-VTEC motor paired to a CVT gearbox. The Civic diesel will be propelled by a 1.6L i-DTEC engine boosted with Honda Earth Dreams Technology. It can produce a peak power of 120PS against 300Nm of torque. The oil burner, with a 6-speed manual gearbox, returns the best-in-segment mileage of 26.8kmpl. Read – Upcoming Honda Cars In India

Some of its key features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, dual zone climate control, vehicle stability assist, traction control, six airbags, reverse camera, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The sedan has received 5 star safety rating in ASEAN NCAP crash test.
