Japanese automaker, Honda will unveil the much-awaited new generation City sedan in Thailand this month. Likely to be unveiled at the 2019 Thailand Motor Show, the new City is expected to be launched in the market by the end of December or early 2020. In India, the new Honda City is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2020. However, the company is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

The new generation Honda City will be based on the new front-wheel-drive platform, which also underpins the new Jazz/Fit. Not just platform, the new model will also share the interior with the sibling hatchback. The sedan will receive the newly styled multi-functional steering wheel with controls for audio, bluetooth telephony and cruise control. Adding to it, the sedan will receive all-digital instrument console with clear readabouts. Also See – New Honda City Specifications Leaked

The dashboard design will be simple and clutter-free in nature, featuring minimal and plain design. It gets a free-standing large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The sedan is also likely to receive an electronic parking brake, which is available in the new Jazz. The new Honda City will provide better quality plastic and fit and finish.

While the interior of the new City will be similar to that of the Jazz, the exterior design will be completely different. The new model design inspiration will come from 3 big Honda sedans including Accord, Civic and the Insight. The front is slightly rounded, while the side mirrors are now positioned to the door frame. Previous media reports claim that the rear design of the new City could be inspired by the Insight sedan.
