Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) aims to be the country’s largest 2-wheeler manufacturer by 2020. In line with its new product strategy, the Japanese bikemaker will introduce a handful of new models and facelifts in the coming years. Recently, the company has dropped a teaser video of its new upcoming bike on its official YouTube channel.
Judging by the video, the new Honda bike will possibly be a touring model. In fact, the headline of the teaser video “What Lies Beyond” indicates that it will be designed for long multi-day excursion on the roads. The teaser video also reveals that the new Honda bike will make its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 24th, 2017. Reports suggest that it could be new Honda Gold Wing. New Honda Bike Teaser Video
For 2018 model year, the Honda Gold Wing is likely to receive some new body graphics and feature upgrades. The bike might also come with a pack of new electronic rider equipment such as semi-active suspension unit, different engine modes, traction control and cornering ABS (anti-lock braking system). The current version of the bike derives its power from a 1832.0cc, 6-cylinder liquid-cooled engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. This motor makes a top power of 116.7bhp at 5,500rpm and 167Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Honda might also unveil a few more products at the Tokyo Motor Show in October. The new Honda Super Cub electric scooter and Honda Neowing hybrid three-wheeler are among the expected debuts. Though the company hasn’t yet revealed the name and details its upcoming new motorcycle, it is likely to be the 2018 Honda Gold Wing.
