New Honda Amaze Gets Expensive; New Prices Start At 5.81 Lakh

Now, the new Honda Amaze is available in the price range of Rs 5.81 lakh – Rs 9.11 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda Cars India has announced the revised price list of the new-generation Honda Amaze that went on sale in May, 2018. The sedan was launched at an introductory price of Rs 5.59 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). After the price hike, the new Honda Amaze 2018 comes in the price range of Rs 5.81 lakh – Rs 9.11 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

While the entry-level petrol and diesel trims have witnessed price increase by Rs 21,000 and Rs 31,000 respectively, the range-topping trims get costly by Rs 11,000. With the revised prices, the base trims of the new Honda Amaze 2018 get slightly more expensive than its arch rivals – the Maruti Dzire and the Hyundai Xcent – that cost Rs 5.56 and Rs 5.61 lakh respectively. The top-spec trim of the Amaze is still slightly more affordable than the Dzire’s high-end trim, which is priced at Rs 9.43 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The Honda Amaze was an instant success when it was first launched in India, and with the generation change it continues to generate volume for the carmaker. In July 2018, the Japanese carmaker managed to sell 10,180 units of the compact sedan which is record sales number for the company in India to this date. It contributed 51 percent of the total monthly sales of Honda that stood at 19,970 units.

Interestingly, the automatic variants of the new Amaze are high in demand. The sales ratio of manual and automatic variants is rated at 74:26. The CVT automatic gearbox is available only on the S and V trims of the sedan with both petrol and diesel engines. The entry-level S trim accounted the highest sales, followed by the cumulative sales of V and VX trims.
