New Honda 125cc Scooter Launch Confirmed – TVS Ntorq Rival

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is planning to expand its product portfolio with multiple new models in coming months. Atsushi Ogata, President, MD and CEO of HMSI, has revealed that the company will roll out two new motorcycles in near future. While he remained tight lipped about the upcoming models, these are likely to be a 160cc and 300-350cc motorcycles. Both bikes are expected to hit roads before implementation of the BS6 Stage II emission norms. The new regulations are scheduled to be enforced from 1st April 2023.

He also confirmed that there will be a new 125cc scooter from Honda. The upcoming Honda scooter will see a release in the next fiscal year. At present, the company is selling two 125cc scooters – Activa and Grazia. Speculations suggest that Honda might introduce a new sportier variant of the Activa 125 to take on the Suzuki Avenis 125 and TVS NTorq 125.

Recently, the two-wheeler maker launched the new Honda Activa Premium Edition at Rs 75,400 (ex-showroom). Based on the Activa 6G, the new Premium Edition comes in Mat Marshal Green Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue and Mat Sangria Red Metallic colour schemes. All colour models have contrast golden highlights and brown seat cover and inner body.

The new Honda Activa Premium Edition uses the same 109.51cc, 4 stroke, air-cooled SI engine making 7.80bhp and 8.84Nm. It has the traditional telescopic front and 3-step adjustable spring loaded rear suspension unit. The scooter comes with the 130mm front and rear drum brakes. It has been assembled with the 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheel shod with 90/90 front and 90/100 rear tyres.

Honda recently rolled out the Shine Celebration Edition in two new colour options – Matte Steel Black Metallic and Matte Sangria Red Metallic. It comes in drum and disc variants, which are priced at Rs 78,878 and Rs 82,878 respectively.
