New Hero XPulse 200T Tourer Motorcycle Unveiled; Launch In Q1, 2019

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler maker has unveiled a new premium motorcycle – the XPulse 200T – at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The new Hero XPulse 200T is a ‘Tourer’, which is claimed to offer modern technology in retro styling. Hero claims that the new tourer will offer easy and comfortable riding posture and loading capability with its large luggage plate.
The motorcycle offers a host of safety and convenience features such as single channel ABS, LED head and tail lamps, digital speedometer with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Based on the XPulse 200, the XPulse 200T will cater to the touring lovers. On the flip side, the XPulse 200 will be an adventure sibling. Both models will be launched in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2019.
Besides this new tourer, Hero has showcased the new Duet 125 and Dash 125 (Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125 in India) at the EICMA. Speaking on the new bikes, Mr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp, said, “Hero MotoCorp is globally known for its fuel-efficient and reliable products, sustainable manufacturing and frugal engineering that drive the wheels of economy in several regions. While we constantly strive to keep improving our existing iconic products, we have been currently focusing on developing higher capacity, youthful and exciting products. Going ahead, we plan to set the benchmark in the high-capacity premium segments as well, like we have done in the other segments.”
The four custom motorcycles – a Café Racer Concept, a Desert Concept, a Scrambler Concept and a Flat-Track Concept – are designed and developed on the XPulse 200T platform. These custom concepts could arrive on later stage in different variant forms. The new Hero XPulse 200T is powered by a 200cc four-stroke engine. This air-cooled, fuel-injected engine gets a single overhead camshaft driving two valves. It is capable of producing a maximum power output of 18bhp and a peak torque of 17Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.
