Based on a high rigidity under bone type platform, the 2017 Hero Duet shares its engine and equipment with the new Maestro Edge.

Hero MotoCorp had launched the new Duet automatic scooter in the Indian market in October 2015. Supreme Court has ordered to ban sales & production of all BS3 compliant vehicles in the country. This has forced makers to launch the updated models of their existing vehicles, which are equipped with BSIV compliant engines & AHO function. Hero MotoCorp has also introduced the 2017 Hero Duet automatic scooter, which now equipped with BSIV engine and automatic headlamp on function. The company hasn’t officially revealed the prices of the scooter, but dealer dispatch has already started across the country.

As a reminder, the BS3 model was available in two variants – LX and VX – priced at Rs 48,130 and Rs 49,780 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Besides BS4 engine, the new Duet also gets new body graphics and colour options. Introduced as a unisex scooter, the scooter is placed below the Maestro Edge, and targets a wider audience base. The scooter comes with an all-metal body and softer lines, and shares most of its components and specifications with the new Maestro Edge.

The new Duet is powered by an 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled OHC engine that is capable of producing 8.31bhp of power and 8.30Nm of torque. Paired to a CVT unit, the Duet is claimed to return an impressive fuel efficiency of 63.8kmpl. 2017 Hero Duet 110 Price

Hero is yet to make an official announcement on its launch, but the scooter is already reached to dealerships. The 2017 Duet will come in two variants – LX and VX – and are expected to see a marginal rise in their prices. While the LX variant is expected to be priced around Rs 49,000, the VX trim is likely to cost around Rs 50,000

Powering the new Duet scooter is a new 110.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power output of 8.31bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 8.30Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox which sends the power to the rear wheels. It is claimed to have a top speed of 85kmph, which is pretty impressive.

Suspension mechanism of the scooter comprises of telescopic suspension (VX), Bottom Link with Spring Loaded Hydraulic Damper (LX) and Unit Swing and Spring Loaded Hydraulic Damper at the rear.

2017 Hero Duet 110 Mileage

Equipped with a new 110cc engine, the new Duet 110 is claimed to have a fuel efficiency of 63.8kmpl.  This scooter should return around 50-55kmpl in city and close to 60kmpl on straight roads.

The new scooter measures 1,830mm, 725mm and 1,140mm in length, width and height, respectively. This model comes with a wheelbase of 1,245mm and has a ground clearance of 155mm. It comes with a kerb weight of 116kgs, which makes it one of the lightest scooters in its league.

The new Hero Duet is based on Hero’s new high rigidity under bone type platform. Dimensions of the vehicle measure 1,830mm in length, 725mm in width and 1,140mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,245mm, thus making it a tad larger than the Maestro Edge. The ground clearance of the scooter stands at 155mm. It carries a kerb weight of 116kgs. The 2017 model looks largely identical to the previous scooter, except for the changes to its color options and feature list. It comes equipped with an AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) function.

The Duet has robust metal body-built with dash of chrome on the rear panels and the 3D emblem, while the twin hold grab rail design is similar to the one offered on the regular Hero Maestro. This unisex scooter comes equipped with several exciting features such as external fuel filling with remote opening, mobile charging USB socket, a digital-analogue console, front and rear luggage hooks, under seat storage lamp and a boot lid.

For safety purpose, the bikemaker equips the scooter with throttle position sensor (TPS), side stand indicator and integrated braking system. It is assembled with 10-inch steel wheels that are shod with 90/100 – 10 – 53J front and rear tubeless tyres. It also comes equipped with telescopic front forks and shock absorbers rear suspension.
