The new Dawn 125 will have a round headlamp instead of the conventional trapezoidal unit. The seat will be flat and longer than before. This 125cc model also features a large headlight, metallic front fender, large footrests and wide rear carrier. Powering the new model will be the same 124.7cc air cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder OHC engine that does duty in the existing CD Dawn 125. This power mill churns out a peak power of 9bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.35Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Hero claims that the new Dawn 125 will have “superior fuel efficient technology.”

If launched in India, the Dawn 150 will be an all-new iteration of the commuter. It might borrow the engine with the Hero Achiever – i.e. 149.2cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air cooled with OHC (Overhead camshaft) valvetrain configuration and Advanced tumble flow induction technology (ATFT). On the Achiever, this engine delivers power worth 13.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 12.80Nm of torque at 5,000rpm.
