New Generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio To Launch In H2, 2020
The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio will hit roads during 2020 festive season.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) will expand its product portfolio with at least 10 to 12 new models in next 2 years. The Indo-Japanese carmaker will give a generation change to some of its popular models and update the existing one with minor design and feature tweaks. The plan also outlines culmination of Suzuki-Toyota partnership and network expansion.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be one of the models that will enter into its new generation. Codenamed Maruti YNC, the second-generation Celerio will hit roads during 2020 festive season. One must note that the official timeline and details of the vehicle are yet to be revealed by the carmaker.
Rumour has it that the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2020 might ditch the existing platform for the new HEARTECT platform. If this happens, the hatchback will become more efficient, lighter and safer than the existing model. Features such as 7.0-inch touchscreen SmartPlay infotainment system could be borrowed from the new WagonR.
Besides this, the carmaker might pack the new model with features such as driver airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, driver and front passenger seat belt reminder and speed alert system.
The new Maruti Celerio 2020 might also share its engine with the new-generation WagonR that’s ready to go on sale on 23rd January, 2019. That means, the hatchback’s new model might get the BS6-ready 1.2L, four-cylinder K12M petrol engine. The CNG fuel kit might also be on offer. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AGS unit.
