New Generation Maruti Suzuki Alto To Launch This Year – Report
The new Maruti Alto 2019 will see heavy design changes and a new BS6-ready engine.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) recently gave a generation change to its highly-popular WagonR hatchback. This year, the Indo-Japanese carmaker is set to roll out a range of new products along with facelifts of the existing models. While the Maruti Baleno facelift will be the next big launch from the company, the Maruti S Future concept based mini SUV will make its way during 2019 festive season.
According to a latest media report, the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Alto will also hit Indian roads by end of this year. The hatchback’s new model will be boasted with a new BS6-ready engine and receive “heavy changes” in terms of design. The interior will also be upgraded with modern in-car entertainment features. The safety quotient of the vehicle will also be improved.
Rumor has it that the new Maruti Alto 2019 might get an all-new, more powerful 660cc petrol engine replacing the existing 880cc motor. The hatchback carline might also get an AMT gearbox along with the conventional 5-speed manual transmission. The 2019 Alto might feature a new lightweight platform along with crossover-ish stance. As far as pricing is concerned, the company aims to maintain the existing prices for the new model. Currently, the hatchback comes in six petrol and two CNG variants priced between Rs 2.66 lakh – Rs 3.49 lakh and Rs 3.87 lakh – Rs 3.93 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
