Honda Cars India is gearing up for the launch of much-awaited premium hatchback, the Jazz. The spy shots of the hatchback have hit on the interweb, indicating that the production of the car have been commenced at company’s new manufacturing facility in Rajasthan. It is expected that the new Jazz will go on sale in the country in March/April, 2015.

The Japanese car manufacturer is aiming to produce a ready supply of stock of the new Jazz before launching in the market. If reports are to be believed, the company has already produced more than 600 units of the hatchback and is aiming to create at least 5,000 cars before launching in the market.

The new Honda Jazz looks more promising than the previous model, and is equipped with various features. It is expected that the new model will create some buzz in the market, which would translate into increase in its sales. Moreover, the hatchback, for the first time, will be offered in diesel variants as well.

It will be offered in both diesel and petrol fuel options. While the oil burner is the highly fuel efficient 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor, the petrol version is the tried & tested 1.2-litre i-VTEC unit. A five-speed manual transmission would be offered as standard, while the petrol model will also get five-speed automatic. It is also expected that the new Jazz would be offered with CVT and paddle shifters. A powerful Jazz RS could also make its way to Indian market.
