New Generation Honda CR-V Launched; Prices Start at Rs 28.15 Lakh

Honda Cars India (HCI) has finally rolled out the fifth-generation CR-V SUV in the Indian market. Launched at a starting price of Rs 28.15 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Honda CRV 2018 will take head-to-head against the cars like Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. With a generation change, the SUV receives two major upgrades including a 7-seats layout and a diesel engine.

1. Prices & Variants

The SUV carline is available in variants petrol CVT 2WD, diesel 2WD and diesel AWD. Price of the petrol variant is Rs 28.15 lakh and the diesel models are made available at Rs 30.65 lakh (2WD) and Rs 32.75 lakh (4WD). All prices are ex-showroom, India. 2. New Diesel Engine

Powering the 2018 CRV diesel model is a newly-developed 1.6L, four-cylinder turbocharged i-DTEC motor that’s good enough for 120bhp at 4,000rpm and 300Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. The petrol variant derives power from a 2.0L unit producing 154bhp at 6,500rpm and 189Nm of torque at 4,300rpm. Read – Honda Amaze-based Compact SUV Under Development 

3. Fuel Economical  

While diesel version comes with AWD (all-wheel-drive) system, the petrol model gets FWD (front-wheel-drive) only. Both the powertrain are available with a CVT (petrol) and a 9-speed automatic gearbox (diesel) with paddle shifters. Mileage of the new Honda CRV 2018 petrol stands at 14.4kmpl (ARAI-certified). 4. Large Boot Space & Lots of Features

The Honda CRV is now available with an optional 7-seat configuration. The SUV offers a boot space of 150-litre, 472-litre with 3rd row fold and 936-litre with 2nd and 3rd row fold. Major changes that have been made inside the cabin include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a power panoramic sunroof, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, electric parking brake and a power driver’s seat. 5. Refreshing Desgin

Visually, the new Honda CRV 2018 appears sharper and more refreshing than the previous model. At the front end, the SUV features a new grille with thick chrome bar, signature LED headlamps and LED fog lamps. Other changes include more pronounced wheel arches, revised taillamps and dual exhaust.
