New-gen Yamaha FZ15 Spotted For The First Time

New 2018 Yamaha FZS FI

The next-gen Yamaha FZ15 will get LED headlights, dual disc brakes and re-profiled fuel tank

We all know that Yamaha will need to launch the new-gen FZ15 in the Indian market in 2019. This is due to stricter emission norms and compulsion of ABS in bikes over 150cc. A recent test mule of an upcoming naked streetfighter was caught on the Bangalore-Chennai highway. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the spotted motorcycle could be the next-gen Yamaha FZ15.

The spotted models were seen wearing the Sriperumbudur license plates, which are wrapped in black tape. The bikes were equipped with LED headlights, but the tail-lamps and turn signals get conventional units. The design of the tail-lamp is similar to the outgoing FZ model. The fuel tank has been revised with a knee recess and a short fairing underneath. It features stepped seat and side-mounted exhaust with a silver heat shield. The spotted model features a conventional telescopic type front suspension and a monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle rides on new alloy wheels and features disc brakes at both ends. The outgoing FZ is available in two variants – FZ and FZS. It is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This fuel injected motor is capable of producing 13bhp of power at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 12.8Nm at 6,000 rpm. Expect new model to offer more power and torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox. Also See – 2019 Yamaha R3 Revealed
