New Gen Suzuki Jimny Leaked Online – Pictures & Details

New Suzuki Jimny Leaked

Based on the body-on-frame architecture, the new Suzuki Jimny will make its global debut at the 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon

We informed you earlier that Suzuki is planning to introduce the next generation Jimny SUV in the Indian market. This new model will come as a replacement for the ageing Maruti Gypsy, which has been on sale since 1998. The company has already started testing the SUV on foreign land, and the first set of leaked images has already hit the web world. The new images fully revealed the exterior and interior styling of the next generation Jimny.

The all-new Suzuki Jimny will be developed on the body-on-frame architecture, which is the same offered in the outgoing model. Going by the leaked images, it is visible that the SUV will continue to feature the boxy-styling theme. The vehicle gets upright front fascia that accommodates five slat grille flanked by simple round headlights. The flat profile of bumper gets a smaller set of round fog lamps on each corner. On the sides, the overall profile looks sporty and rugged, thanks to prominent squared-off wheel arches. The new Jimny looks like a smaller version of the Mercedes G-Class and Land Rover Defender. The range-topping models are expected to be equipped with bigger alloy wheels, feature loaded cabin and dual-tone colour options. The cabin too features retro-modern design. It features an all-new dashboard that has new AC vents, steering wheel and switchgears from modern-day Suzuki models including Ignis and Swift. This SUV also comes equipped with a new touchscreen infotainment system, which is likely to be the same offered in the Ignis. It is expected to support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Initially, the company will launch the three-door model while the five-door model will join the line-up at later stage.

Talking about specifications, the next generation Jimny is expected to be offered with three engine options – a 660cc turbocharged petrol, 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol and a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol. Both manual and automatic versions of the SUV will be on offer. The next generation Jimny will also get Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro system, which is basically the advanced version of Suzuki’s AllGrip 4WD tech.

The Japanese automaker is expected to showcase the new generation Suzuki Jimny at the Tokyo Auto Salon in October. If reports are to be believed, the vehicle will also make its way to Indian market in the next 2 years.
