The next-gen Mitsubishi Outlander will be based on the Nissan’s CMF-C/D platform, which currently underpins the Qashqai and X-Trail. Nissan will also introduce the new-gen Qashqai and the X-Trail SUVs this year. The alliance will also make changes to the platform to make it suitable for the hybrid technologies. The company would aim to reduce the weight of the platform.
