New-generation Maruti WagonR might launch in the third or fourth week of January, 2019.
The new-generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR might soon hit the Indian roads. As per our sources, the WagonR’s media drive will take place between 20th – 30th January, 2019. And Maruti Suzuki usually launches its cars prior to the media drive. We are guessing, the launch of new Maruti WagonR 2019 might take in the third or fourth week of January.
The hatchback’s new-generation model will witness comprehensive aesthetic changes along with a pack of new features. Though, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 will continue to carry its signature ‘tall-boy’ stance and boxy design. Some of its key changes will include new headlamps and grille, a longer hood, more sculpted bumpers, pronounced side creases, a large rear windshield and new roof-mounted spoiler. While the ORMVs will be integrated on the door instead of the pillar, the horizontal taillamps will be placed a little lower. Reports suggest that the new Maruti WagonR 2019 will continue to be based on the existing platform instead of the rumored Suzuki’s new Heartect architecture. Compared to the current generation, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 will be longer and safer. The hatchback might get dual airbags and ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard fitments. The list of feature might also include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, new steering wheel, new dashboard design and air con vents.
Under the hood, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 will house a 1.0L, three-cylinder petrol engine. Transmission options on offer will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT. The carmaker has already confirmed that it will introduce the electric version of the new WagonR in 2020.
